Reliability leadership for high-volume automation—small stops, honest updates, and room for technicians to think.

Floor first. Then the dashboard.

I lead maintenance and reliability for high-volume automated operations—most recently as Area Maintenance Manager at CBRE supporting Amazon BHM1. I’m wired for the failures that never earn a work order: frequency, not just duration; planned downtime that buys control instead of twelve unplanned hours later.

Day to day: Oracle eAM, PM/PdM and corrective priorities, and recovery across conveyors, sortation, robotics, and PLC-controlled assets. Dashboards help—floor knowledge wins. Verify before you inherit assumptions. It’s never just one rung.

Leadership means I take the ETA pressure so the technician with the meter can think. Servant leadership with clear standards. Capture knowledge before it walks out the door. Path: Tech III Shift Lead to Area Maintenance Manager; teams under my leadership held zero reportable incidents and zero lost-time accidents.

How I think about the work.

Short excerpts from posts I’ve written—reliability, leadership, and troubleshooting discipline.

The best reliability opportunity may not be the asset with the longest single outage. It may be the one stealing twenty seconds so efficiently that nobody notices the total. Small stops are only small when we count them one at a time.

LinkedIn post

Operations should manage the operational consequences. Maintenance leadership should manage the communication and pressure. Let the technicians manage the technical problem.

If you didn’t verify it yourself, it isn’t a fact yet. I learned a long time ago to respect the work that was done before I arrived—but never inherit somebody else’s assumptions.

Planned maintenance is buying control over when the equipment stops. I’ll happily defend an hour of planned downtime today if the alternative is explaining twelve hours of unplanned downtime tomorrow.

I don’t think it’s simply the skilled labor shortage. I think it’s the loss of institutional technical knowledge faster than we’re replacing it. Capture what your best people know before that knowledge walks out the door.
